For those who do not know what it feels like to be poor, this is for you.

Imagine...If you will...You are under water struggling to breath, so you grab hold of any thing that you can to pull yourself up. The struggle is hard, but you finally pull yourself up and take a breath of air. Above the water there are people farther than the eyes can see, like a great ocean within an ocean. Some are rising, some are sinking, but the struggle is endless. Upon the water you see a shiny boat. Some people upon the boat, like sirens, sing sweet promises into the air. These promises fill your mind with wonderful dreams. You believe yourself to be young and strong, but life proves stronger. It stomps your dreams into smaller dreams, until you dream no more. This is the awakening moment, when your eyes finally open and see the world as it truly is. The light at the end of the tunnel is a fake. The greener grass is place you will never walk upon. The golden years are actually the rusty years, for you have found yourself old and broken. Your vision of the future is full of empty. This is the moment, when hopelessness comes down like a hammer and shatters your soul. You feel that true happiness was a cruel trick, and the thought of death feels like sweet bliss upon the mind. What life has started, time shall finish. You now feel the hands of others grabbing you, from beneath the water. You no longer wish to resist, so you let go. As you sink to the bottom, the " what ifs " plague your mind. Welcome to hell on earth. Till death do we part.
THIS IS THE BEATING HEART OF POVERTY
